It honors outstanding achievements in sound mixing in the television industry and motion picture of the year 2023. The ceremony is going to happen at Intercontinental in Los Angeles. Karol Urban is the President.

Last year, Top Gun: Maverick – Mark Weingarten won the Outstanding Achievement Award in sound mixing. Members of the Cinema Audio Society also present the Student Recognition prize at the event.

The tickets for the show will be available on the official website i.e. cinemaaudiosociety.org soon.

Also, to vote one needs to become a CAS member. Because the final ballots for online voting are available to active members only.

The ceremony starts with a sealed envelope consisting of the names of the winners. There is also a dress code for the event. So, one should check the dress code before attending the event.

In addition, members are allowed to poll for one entry in each category. There are 6 categories of membership. They are – Namely Active, Associate, Honorary, Student, Career Achievement, and retired.

Therefore to participate in CAS Awards voting you need to become a member. Thereafter you can poll for the deserving candidate. After all the final voting is done through members only.

CAS Awards Voting 2024

To know the poll and entry rules please read further. As we know every year the program takes place.

It presents prizes and honors sound mixers and teams. For outstanding achievement in live-action, documentary, and animated categories, this prize is presented.

Hundreds of entries come. They are reviewed by experienced members of the organization who understand the art of sound mixing.

After that, the CAS Awards nominee’s final listing and final voting are done through members.

How to Vote on CAS Awards?

To select the winner one needs to vote for the person/teams and make them win the prize. So, read the following instructions as given below.

• First of all, visit CAS’s official website i.e.  www.cinemaaudiosociety.org 
• Secondly, check the 60th CAS timeline. Here, you will get an entry submission form, nomination ballots, and voting dates.
• Next, when the online CAS Awards voting begins. Members poll for one entry in each category.

Note– Only active members join the voting.

However, the 60th awards timeline is yet to be released through officials. So, wait for the official notification to come.

CAS Awards Nominations 2024

Nominations encourage the creators. Since 1994 this event has taken place to recognize outstanding talent in sound mixing.

There are a total of 7 categories and each category has 5 nominees.

So, now it’s time for the 60th event of this award show. This event is going to be organised in starting of the year 2024. However, the members will have the CAS Awards nominees list way before that. 

Therefore, the officials haven’t revealed the CAS nominations 2024 list for now. But soon they will release the list. 

So, we will update the information soon. Till then stay tuned with us.

CAS 2024 Winners

The nominee in each category having the maximum total number of votes is the winner.

However, in the event of a tie between nominees, for the first place. The prize is allowed to be given to more than one nominee i.e. show or film.

Through a written voting ballot form submitted by members of the Cinema Audio Society, the winner is chosen.

But Talking about the winners of the 59th annual prize in sound mixing in different categories are as follows.

Now in the next 60th event of this award, there are some new winners. And the show is going to air in early 2024. 

So, we have to wait for the winners’ list for the 60th ceremony. 

 CAS Awards Categories 

Before 2013 there was only one award in motion pictures. Later the award is divided into two categories i.e. action and animation.

There are a total of 7 categories. They are as follows –

• Motion Pictures – Live Action
• Motion Pictures – Animated
• Television Series – Half hour
• Motion Pictures- Documentary
• Television Non-Fiction, Variety, or Music – Series of Specials
• Non Theatrical – Motion Pictures
• Television series – One hour

The event also includes recognition such as the Filmmaker Prize, Student Recognition Prize, Technical Achievement, and Career Achievement Honoree.
